Motorised Projection Screen Servicing

We have a 7m motorised Projection screen mounted in our auditorium. We lower and retract it maybe once or twice a week at present but we intend to start using it on daily basis. I started working here fairly recently and have no record of when the screen was installed or who installed it or indeed any information about it at all!

Firstly how often should the motors be serviced on such a device and is there a specialist organisation to carry out the servicing in the South West of the UK that anyone can recommend?

Secondly would there be any potentially adverse effects from leaving the screen deployed for days at a time so as to avoid using the motors to much?

I have a recollection that my preprocessor might have mentioned the motors where retrofitted? But I have no hard evidence for this.

Any help advice at all would be much appreciated.

Generally screens use tubular motors that are a complete sealed unit and dont need serviceing. even with daily use its not that hard a life for a motor, and the ones we have repaired have been broken by user stupidity rather than anything else. Id expect that if you could find out the manufacturer, you could contact them and ask their advice, but these things are made to work without any preventative maintenence being required. Your screen does a lot less than your washing machine and you dont worry about that ....

id certainly not be raising and lowereing the screen 20 times a day for no reason, but id not worry about using it normally. The motor will have a thermal cutout to stop it overheating so you cant continually go up and down but this is only ever an issue at the instal phase when setting the top and bottom stops as you simpy wouldnt do that, also if the screen isnt moving, the motor isnt working so no issue on leaving it up or down.
