Nick LX
Can anyone recommended some resilient microphone desk stands (http://www.mds975.co.uk/Images/amateur_radio/Woodbrass_MS01_Mic_Stand.JPG)? We currently have ones like the one pictured however this is a shared studio which means they get quite badly treated. Frequently the springs seem to be popping off. We're looking for something that is a whole lot stronger, and a bit sturdier. Cheers
Oldradiohand
Have a look at the Canford site - they do a heavy duty version of the anglepoise stand and some round base mic stands with isolating rubber rings on the base.
TomHoward
We use O C Whites boom arms - http://www.ocwhite.com/broadcast-arms.html Not sure on the exact model but it's one of the ones with a vertical rise - however ours don't have the XLR pass-through like these as they are older. http://www.ocwhite.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/6/1/61900-bg-w_micposition2_1.jpg
Bobbsy
K&M brand have always seemed to last well. They call them "Microphone Desk Arms" if you go searching and Canford certainly used to sell them. They have models that simply clamp on the desk and ones that can be screwed down. From the K&M SITE. GaryNattrass
I use the RODE PSA1 and they have the springs inside the arm so they don't pop off they also come with a desk clamp and a fixture that can be fitted via a hole drilled in the desk.http://www.rodemic.com/accessories/psa1
