timtheenchanteruk
I seem to remember a while ago a thread about the XLR sockets on some LED PARs having issues, a metal part falling off, and shorting units out. Now, I have just discovered that, along with DMX2 on our desk having died, so did every single LED PAR (the only thing on the output)upon disconnecting one of the faulty units (to trouble shoot one by one) a small metal bit fell out of the socket. now, if this small part fell inside the unit, it quite possibly did much damage. I can't remember what brand the units that were having the issue were, nor can I find the thread, mine are Pulse units, not yet confirmed the issue, we have a show starting tomorrow, so it will have to wait a few days. pritch
Well, here's the thread you were looking for: http://www.blue-room.org.uk/index.php?showtopic=45285 It talks about Thomann cans, but I guess the same XLR socket could have made its way into countless other products, and rebadging opens up a whole other can of worms.
