timsabre
At my church we've got a Hitachi CPX1250 projector which has some lamp problems which have developed over a time... to start with it started flickering between normal brightness and a reduced level, eventually it has ended up at a much reduced level. We have a new replacement lamp but it doesn't make any difference, so I think the problem must be in the lamp power supply electronics. Does anyone have suggestions what might be up with it, and where we could send it to get it fixed?
AHYoung
Service care deal with all hitachi wrranty and non warranty repairs... Id sounds like a lam problem , but if you are certain that the unit does the same with a known good lamp its probably the ballast or lamp psu. It wont be cheap, but its probably worth fixing as they are still decent units and ive seen them do over 10k hours and allthough the panels get pretty knackered thy still work. That said did you buy a genuine lamp as pretty much everything on ebay etc is a low quality copy irrespective of their claims. A genuine hitachi comes boxed with a filter. Service care will diagnose it and charge a hours labour, so if its uneonomic you can decide based on an exact figure for a repair with a warranty.Hitachi (Service Care)Tel. timsabre
OK thanks for the info, will contact them. I believe it is a Hitachi lamp, will check. The existing lamp has only done a few hundred hours though.
