Just got an Opti Quasar Xe900, Used four of them many moons ago, unit is in good condition and fires up, fan runs smoothly and overall condition inside is very good.......Know you need strobe controller to control unit, but should the lamp power up when unit is powered up from mains without controller. Theres no on/off switch on unit as would be switched from strobe controller.......Lamp type is a QC A1......Its been so long since Ive used one of these I simply cannot remember.....Many thanks Ian.....Also would like to get my hands on another 3 if anyone knows of any units kicking about. AHYoung Posted February 9, 2012 Share Posted February 9, 2012 from memory its a +10v trigger you need so if you plug a jack lead in and touch the other end across a 9v battery, it should flash on each touch.
