I've always thought it would be a cool thing to do to map the brightness and contrast functions of a display to DMX channels.

I had considered it myself when reading that thread. Maybe in the style of a universal remote whereby you teach it the commands with the original remote, but it interfaces with DMX. Or, alternatively, a DMX to RS232 adaptor?
