miguelvicente
Hi I am wondering if it is possible to slave a jester 12/24 of another jester 12/24 and effectively have48 DMX channels/faders of control? Thanks Miguel
maxjones2000
I dont know if plugging the DMX out from one into the DMX in on the other would work to give 48 channels...worth a try though! If that fails, you could do it by plugging both desks into a DMX merger, but from what ive heard, this wouldnt be cost effective and would be easier to simply hire/buy a Jester 24/48, and also you would lose some functionality using a merger because you wouldnt be able to run a single cuestack to control both desks, but this depends on what you want the desks to do, the level and functionality you need and the all-important budget! HTH :)
miguelvicente
Thank you. Do you know where could I hire a jester 48 on short notice in london?Stage electrics is depleted of them and whitelight doesn't seem to hire them out. pritch
If you run a DMX source into the DMX in on the Jester, then it'll effectively merge the channels anyway. However, something to be aware of is that if you start using memories, then any channels from the 'slave' desk will snap to their values rather than fading up or down. Smallsy
Does it need to be a Jester? I have a ETC Smartfade sitting next to me.
TomHoward
Plugging one into the other would work in terms of controlling 48 channels, but the memory sections on each wouldn't be linked - so you'd have to press 'Go' on each at the same time.
