Pete McCrea
What do you mean by IPS?
smalljoshua
I'm guessing it means In Plane Switching as used to give a wider viewing angle without the image being affected. Josh
rossmck
I picked up 4x Dell Ultrasharp 2209WA for about £100 or so each a couple of years ago, they're IPS and 22" ... what are you looking to use them for ?
sleepytom
Yeah the better dell screens are really quite good. I have a £300 dell monitor next to my £4k sony broadcast monitor and the difference in image quality is not as big as you'd think it should be (if you've paid full price for the Sony screen anyway!) the dell doesn't have as many controls and so is hard to properly calibrate but for the money it's very good. But any screen is only as good as the engineer who set it up. A cheap TFT which has been calibrated properly will be better than a poorly set up top of the range screen. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/ has meaningful reviews of monitors.
