JBL control 1 mounting options

I'm trying to come up with a way of setting up some front fills in a venue that has a pipe & drape type curtain support for its pit (it's just the floor in front of the stage...) That, of course, is not load-bearing so whatever supports have to be free-standing. Mic stands spring to mind - is it possible to mount control 1s to such a stand? (Would you even want to? They're less than 2KG, but still...) Pit curtain is only about 0.8m high so stands don't want to be much taller than that which wipes out normal speaker stands (not that the cabs would easily mount to them anyway).

All ingenious thoughts welcome :)

I've mounted Control 1s on mic stands before, by using half the wall bracket and a boom stand with the boom removed, sticking the round section into where the boom would usually go and tightening the thumbscrew down against it.

However, whilst looking for that it appears JBL do a MTC7 adaptor, which may be what you are looking for if you can find one.

How many Control 1s do you need to mount on stands?

Also http://www.thomann.de/gb/km_stativadapter_jbl_control_1.htm, £25 a pop though.

Some great leads there - thanks.

It's only going to be for four; that Thomann one would be ideal but £100 is a bit OTT for something I may never use again... Further googling suggests the MTC-7 has the American standard thread, MTC-6 is the European version. Neither seems to be widely available though - possibly discontinued.

It is also possible to fit a bolt into the fixing in the back of the control ones - It is either M5 or M6 Bolts, I can't remember which.

I have used this in the past to attache a hook clamp, or similar, to allow for rigging the control ones in unusual places.

how did you do this??

Look at the speaker on the chair in the background of the picture. All you do is cut off the wall plate with an hacksaw.

If you don't have the wall brackets, could you use one of these from Canford.

I usew these http://www.flints.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2eflints%2eco%2euk%2facatalog%2f&WD=boss%20plate&PN=Boss_Plates%2ehtml%23aFHS014#aFHS014 , I use self tapping screws tofix the plate to the bottom of the control 1 and the 10mm thread seems to fit most of my mic stands
