LEDs, water and colour mixing

Hi all,

I wonder if you could help. I've got a 2 tier small waterfall that I want to light. I've got a colour changing light in the bottom tier (like this ) but want something else in the top tier as it looks quite dark. It will look too much like Blackpool to add another colour changing light in there but static multi-coloured light would be nice. So I want to be able to see red, green and blue light.

If I used an RGB LED light, would it still look white or do you think each colour will somehow bounce off the water and look multi-coloured? Am I better to buy 3 individual lights and direct them so they don't colour mix?

Hope someone has some experience of this and this makes sense.

Thanks

Emma

It wholly depends on what sort of thing you end up buying. A single RGB LED will have the various LEDs at different locations inside the housing, and thus youll get red going one way, green another, and blue a different way still. When put together, in different orientations, theyll start mixing to get something closer to white.

You'd most likely have a lot more freedom in buying separate lights and then angle them how you want.
