Double bladed DMX Shutter

It /could/ be made to work with servo's but it's still an inherently flawed solution to the problem that ultimately makes more problems than it solves.

There's effectively no possibility of ongoing alignment issues if you use scrollers since they only move the film in one dimension. If you have 2 then make sure they're bolted / fixed firmly or use one flood/battern scroller. This solution is quick, simple, practical and won't impact the 3D - the only issue you'll have is if you have 2 scrollers then (as above) you'll have to place the projectors slightly further apart than normal so you'll have to do a little bit of over-compensated keystoning to ensure your convergence isn't compromised and ensure they are clamped firmly in place so they can't be moved. Anything that twists / rotates / turns the films is going to be a nightmare and forever failing in performance.

Tim - that semphore is remarkably like the "aftermarket" addition a popular large format film company created and sell for a ridiculously large sum to upgrade their projectors to 3D; everything old is new again!

Hi There.

There is not problem to create the double bladded DMX shutter according your wish.

JUst let us know what you're looking for and we should create you uniqe plug&play solution.

Flaps should also variable.

Or I think in this case is necessary just create the custom flap with the 3D filter, black out and free beam positions.

This job is pretty simple and don't cost lot's of money...

What size of optics are you using now? How the projectors are mounted in location?

j.
