GCSE and A Levels

Recommended Posts

Qualifications are becoming more important. And as much as I hold my reservations about exactly what can be taught at a degree level for a Lighting Designer, I will always suggest that you go and get an education. I've said it before on these boards, and I'll no doubt have to say it again a thousand times, but one of my biggest single regrets in life is not having a degree.

Okay, I left school, and went straight to work, and do alright as a freelance LD, however, I considered changing my career completely recently, and the let down was ===>> No degree....

Just because you want to be an LD / Noise Boy / Stage Manager now, does not mean that you will want to be doing that in 20/30/40 years time. For gods sake get the education behind you so that if in 20 years you think sod this for a game of soldiers. You'll have some way to get out.

Cheers
