TonyMitchell
We have a G1 EW550 (twin) receiver which operates in ch.70 with two handhelds, this is currently used with 2 x A1031-U paddle antennae. Plan to purchase 2 x EW300 G3 receivers, 2 x SK300 transmitters for lavs/headmics, on channel 38 (along with a JFMG 'shared' licence) The ASP2 antenna splitter is branded a G2 product, can anyone forsee any problems in connecting the four receivers (2 x G1 and 2 x G3) and the two paddle antennae to a single ASP2 for simultaneous use? The frequency spectrum of the paddle antennae is 450-960Mhz therefore includes both ch.38 and ch.70. Also, would a pair of boosters be a good idea as splitting up to four ways? We don't currently use a booster with the EW550. If 'yes', which booster? ... as I don't believe the AB2 covers ch.38.
Bobbsy
The ASP2 should work fine with your mix of equipment. You're right about the AB2. It was a narrow band device and you had to specify the frequency band you were going to use--AB2 E was the most common in the UK because it covered 830-866MHz--nothing in the range comes close to covering Channels 38 and 69/70 at the same time. Frankly, a wide band boost isn't the best idea because it will almost certainly raise the noise floor as well as boosting useful signal. The ASP 2 is an active device claiming zero loss so you should be okay anyway. Bob
