Inside a d&b 902BX Sub.

Hi there,

As stated I had a bit of a free afternoon and all the bits I needed so I thought I'd take a few pictures of this subwoofer for anyone who might be interested.

Here's the cab assembled completely.

The rear...

6x hex bolts and the grill comes away, unfortunately the bolts took a little of the foam with them as they came out :)

Here's the view sans grill, the piece of foam you can see came freely away from the driver surround. Probably due to the age of the unit.

Another angle on that. I've started to loosen the bolts holding in the driver.

The driver removed, they're all the bolts from the unit next to the driver.

The interior of the unit. It was interesting for me to note that there was no foam or wadding on the inside of the unit.

A shot of the back panel interior and the xover. I didn't have a short enough screw driver handy to remove the casing around the xover, nor did I want to really...

The driver out of place, I've rested the fallen bit of foam for the photo.

The rear of the driver, I hadn't expected it to be an RCF, but I'm thrilled that it is.

Next time, I'm having a brief look around the inside of a P1200L by d&b audiotechnik.

Thanks, Sam.

Interesting, do you know from what era that box dates, and it's spec?

I haven't ever come across a 902 and couldn't find anything in the d&b archive mentioning it. I guess it may be early 90s, before the 602 became a C6, as the numbering convention is similar.

That is a 902BX, not a 902.

The 902 was later renumbered as the E9, it's like a 90 degree version of a 602.

Hi Stan,

Thanks for your comments on my post. If the 902 was later renumbered as the E9 does this mean the E9 would run on my P1200L with the 902 cards? I currently have 2 x P1200L's with 902 cards and only two of the 902BX subs (which seems a tad pointless at the moment)

Regards, Sam

I can't upload pictures like I did last time due to various boring computer type reasons, apologies for that.

All the best, Sam.
