Dj Dunc
Hi All Im getting sick of having my hands away from the console when cueing SFX in a musical show. I want to purchase myself a remote box (the ones that have stop, go, forward and back) that I can just lay ontop of the console and so I can just hit the go button to cue stuff. I know that Orbital Sound fit these actually into their consoles, and many if not all other venues that ive had work experience in London have had them, but after 20 mins of googling, I cant for the life of me work out what they are called or a source for em. Also support for Mac and PC is a bonus as I use Qlab and Multiplay a lot. Many thanks Duncan
dbuckley
I use a Frontier Designs AlphaTrack for just this purpose. Ok, its a sledgehammer to crack a nut, but its very cute and I will make it do more than just the transport buttons...
Lamplighter
At the other end of the scale, I have a small box with 3 buttons, used with Multiplay. This gives me Go, Stop and Fade. It is made with the control pcb and lead from a USB keyboard, the three switches being connected to the appropriate cross points on the keyboard connector. Very simple but effective.Brian
David Duffy
For the DIY person that doesn't want to hack a keyboard, switch encoder boards like this and this may be useful.
