Wilflet Posted March 25, 2010 Share Posted March 25, 2010 I use the Blue Ball alot on guitar cabs (but have also had better than expected results on an acoustic cello). Iv always been happy with it, I quite often leave channel eqs flat (or nearly flat). It especially suits distorted metal/hard rock guitars - they tend to come through less piercing than with some other mics but still ballsy and clear. The output is a bit too high for a desk without a pad on the pre, but it does sound great on bass cabs and misc percussion. Bit of a hump at 1.25kHz, though.
