Matt Riley
Hi guys, I just wondered whether you might be able to help point me in the right direction. I'v just bought a camcorder (Kodak Zi8 if anyone's interested) and it has a stereo mic in socket. I've already made a straight XLR to stereo 3.5mm jack adaptor (+ to tip/ring, - to sleeve) which seems to work ok, but basically I want to make a box similar to this Studio one box and wondered if anyone had access to the schematics/ component values of something similar - I presume it is just a couple of transformers and some volume pots? Cheers, Matt
crox
we were in a similar position. managed to get a 3.5mm stereo to xlrf about 1ft long. Perfect really for us.
mervaka
just so you know, if you connect the tip and ring together then you send a common mode signal, which will be rejected by the balanced input at the other end. you need to connect the ring to the sleeve, not the tip.
