allsounds
Hi all, I am looking for a solution to rackmount VGA connectors for a customer who doesnt want people messing around with the back of a switcher. Apart from a major bodge to get them to fit in a patch panel strip does anyone know how to do it properly or know of anyone who makes something ? ideally am looking for them to fit into a 1u strip 4no with 4no BNC ends Thanks Matt

Tom Baldwin
Canford do a VGA connector which fits in a standard Neutrik D-series cut-out. Read the application note carefully, as there are limitations. Alternatively, the HD15 connector used for video has the same shell size as the 9-pin D-sub. P/N 062200 from this supplier would allow you to mount multiple VGA connectors.
peternewman
CPC also sell the same item and the rest of the Switchcraft Unified D range including a few gender variations, a DB9 and some other bits. I've not yet encountered any compatibility issues as warned about in the Application Note.
eviljohn2
We've made our own before by machining out a suitable hole in the panel to screw in a normal VGA gender bender. We mounted vertically to help with cable retention. This was before the Switchcraft connectors were available. ;)
