dwents
Can anybody tell me if there is a special tool for removing cable grommets from budget lighting effects the oval ones which when pinched together and pushed into the oval hole stay there untill the outer sheath on the cable breaks showing bare wires ? and the only logical way to remove and replace is pliers cutters etc but this just damages the grommet and never fits back correctly. I have tried a google search but just cant find what I want any help would be appreciated.
Tom Baldwin
I think you're after one of these, described by RS as a "cable bush insertion tool".Spawn of the devil, those grommets...
Light Console
I hate those things! However, I didn't know there was a tool for them...sadly too expensive for the few times I have to re-use them. Thanks Tom.

Where possible I've replaces the grommets with a cable gland from CPC, thus eliminating the problem of them never quite working properly again.
