Wilflet
the l2/58 is the sm58 head for the l2 (handheld) transmitter. Its interchangeable with l2/87, l2/beta58 and l2/beta87 (87, beta 58 and beta 87 respectivly) heres a bit about the L series systems http://www.shure.com/stellent/groups/publi...l-series_ug.pdf
zonerc
So it is basicly the same head just differant name printed on it?Great if thats the case but my second queston still stands just to see if its possible for spares
Wilflet
So it is basicly the same head just differant name printed on it? Its the same head but in a form compatable with that body. I presume if you really wanted to try and bodge a normal 58 onto the l2 body it could be made to work, but theres no advantage to it and it'l take too long to do a mid gig swap
TimmyP1955
I'm certain that the L indicates that the head is compatible with that particular series, but not others. The capsule is the same as in a wired unit. Ain't no bodging capsules on these things. If the application is vocals (as opposed to just a talking head), go wireless only if you MUST. Why pay more for a wireless that does not sound nearly as good as a wired mic? (IME, you need a UHFR system to sound as good as a wired mic with the same capsule.)
