si_cole
Hello We have 2 racks of 6 DB UHF Radio Mics (am not at unit so cant remember the exact model). As part of our hire stock we also have Sennheiser 300 G2's. In testing all of our radio systems this weekend, we have found 1 dead capsule on the DBs. Questions: 1. Anyone know what the connector is called on the other end of the capsule wire? The 3.5mm jack is threaded so it screws into the beltpack. 2. Can these be taken apart or if not (if so how because we cant see a way) and where can you buy replacement ones? 3. One for the future - can you buy adaptors so that we could plug Sennheiser capsules into them? Has anyone tried this? Thanks in advance Si
Rob_Beech
So to clarify, it's a different type of locking connector to the Sennheiser one? The connectors and cables close to them are the general point of failure. Locking connectors are available, and the price has dropped considerably recently, check out the usual suppliers such as CPC for them. Chris MAY know which ones are suitable for which beltpacks. A warning that some ARE NOT!!!!!!!! suitable for Sennheiser beltpacks even though the nice lady on the phone says they are. Anyone want 50 locking jacks that don't fit Sennheiser packs? Matt Riley
Sounds like the lock jack I've got on some old akg kit. I haven't found a supplier yet. I think I'm just gonna get some cheap senny type sockets and open the units up and change them. M
si_cole
Rob, Yes it different to Sennhesier in that they have the threaded bezel on the connector that locks onto the beltpack connection. The DB's have a threaded connector that twist into the socket on the beltpack. I will take some photos later on and hopefully that will clear things up!
