tolley1466
I have a sub that has two cones. The connectors on the back are jack ins. They are separately wired.I want to wire it so there is a single speakon connector wired to both speakers. How can I wire the speakers so they are parallel? Pyramid
Hi. Simple. From the speakon take 2 wires from -1 and +1 to neg and pos on driver one. Take another pair of wires and connect the 2 neg terminals on the speakers together and likewise for the positive ones. NB make sure that you use nice, heavy cable, I normally go overboard and use 4mm2 or 6mm2 for subs but 2.5mm2 will probably suffice. Andy
pisquee
Firstly, do you the impedance of the two speakers? This will tell you if you need to wire them in parallel or in series to be suitable for the amp you are powering them with.
tolley1466
They are 8ohms I believe...
Robin Pratt
....then you should be fine to wire them in parallel, giving you a 4 ohm total for the box and most amplifiers will drive this quite happily
tolley1466
Thought the load would be 4 ohms in total. All wired now. Thanks everyone :oOh and it works :D
