DMXing

As some people would have read by now (this is my third message, very sorry if you feel I am wasting time) I am looking for a DMX controller to use in fairly small - medium size venues but only to take around 12 fixtures. Usually for concert (band) purposes but sometimes I am asked to use my scanners in addition to a show that is happening that they want to run on a separate controller.

I have had some desks suggested to me and have got it down to two. Do you think you could possibly take the time to suggest which controller you think would be better for me for the uses I have written above?

Stageline DMX-1440

Transcension DMX/y (I know discontinued but apparently this website still sell it)

I went for the Transcension because I like the Jog wheel feature but then the Stageline seemed to have more stage features.

If you could possibly do this and you don't think I'm wasting time Very many thanks!!

After a quick look at the 2 controllers, the first one looks the better option.......but if it is discontinued, then any problems may fall on deaf ears. It may not be what you want to hear, but when purchasing 'cheap' you're in the lap of the gods.

Electrovision do a few DMX controllers under the Soundlab range, which others have re-branded (or vice-versa), worth a look. Tech support and spares, in some instances are available.

Edit.....

Quoted the whole post ;)

Definately the Stageline unit, I have worked with a lot of these types of controllers, and what I noticed straight away with the stageline is that you have a master dimmer for fading between scenes.

and more importantly you can store cross fade and speed with each chase.

On the soundlabs etc you have to select the chase or scene bank in blackout mode, then set the speed and crossfade functions to the correct levels then release the blackout. Or do the above in live mode which looks messy.
