Shure PGX2 handheld problem

Hello, I have a Shure PGX2 handheld wireless mic here with the SM86 head.

 

It looks faulty, it won't power on. When I press and hold the mute button, the power led comes on green, when I release the button, it goes off and stays off. If I hold the mute button for 10 secs or more (like you want to lock the mic) the LED starts to flicker then flashes once and switchs off again.

 

I've tried 'registering' a new frequency via the infrared link but it doens't acknowledge the transmission.

 

Any ideas, good people? Or is this another return?

 

Following the last problem BR solved for me, I'd like to say I've changed the batteries.
