Tregilibob Posted March 3, 2009 Share Posted March 3, 2009 hi, I have been trawling the net and BR and have found nothing useful!!!I am looking for a couple of companies that can come and do a installation spec in a large school hall for speaker placement/audio issues.The hall has speakers installed but they are rubbish for anything apart from spoken voice (its a PA system from the 80's) and we want to upgrade.I am the theatre technician here but I openly admit that when it comes to speaker placement and type, I have a lot to learn. drsound Posted March 3, 2009 Share Posted March 3, 2009 Nothing good on Yell.com? Just a word of advice, be wary of approaching only companies who specialise in "Educational" establishments. Some (by no means all of course) use this as a nice lucrative way to fleece naive schools out of their cash for systems that aren't really suitable. We have been asked to sort out several installs that cost a lot more than they should have. While they could tend to be more expensive, theatre installation contractors might be the way to go. Any decent contractor should be more than happy to take you to the venues they have worked in and introduce you to former clients. I wouldn't be worried about finding people who are especially local.
