I have a Sony EVI-D70P (Tech Specs)

 

The relevant information I believe is:-

1/4"Exview HAD Color CCD

X18 Power Zoom, f=4.1mm to 73.8 mm, F1.8 to F3.0

 

Part1:

So how do I work out the minimum and maximum field of view I can cover from a given height?

Example using height of 5.3m (or 17.5 feet) appreciated..

 

Part2:

I found Webcamsoft lens calc from a previous post, but that allows me to enter the field of view and get a focal length required..

 

Using the webcamsoft calculator if I want a vertical field of view of 23 feet from 17.5 feet high, I need a 2mm lens, which the Sony does not have.

What if I have one of these HR 0.5 Wide Angle Lens ??

Does that actually mean that my f4.1mm can become f2.05mm ??
