I've only used the Venice a couple of times (didn't like it much) and have never compared the different power supplies....but Midas themselves say there's no difference. However, I have heard at least one person mentioning a mod that can be done to the external unit to "improve" it. I have no idea what that might be but guess this might be the origin of the stories.
