Metrodeck staging legs

I am hoping to build a set for back to the 80s which allows cast to walk underneath, so we can fit doors etc to the front of the metrodeck. We also need to be able to store a car underneath the staging. For both these reasons, we want it to be 2m high. I have been told that for H&S reasons, legs only go to 1.2m. Any taller than this and the stage needs to be braced. We are hiring the kit in for a week. If we have to go down the route of bracing the satge, is this pretty simple or is it going to cost us alot?!

Thanks for you help,

Very simple - you need a selection of swivel and fixed scaff couplers, a selection of lengths of scaff (preferably steel) and someone who knows what they're doing. Any tame scaffolder, engineer or experienced technician should have no problems helping you out. We certainly do it frequently. You do want steel scaff for the legs at 2m length. The bits aren't going to be expensive.

You basically want to anchor the bottom of all the legs together so they can't splay in or out, and add sway bracing to every facade. The tricky bit is working out which bits of bracing are superfluous so you can have entrances and exits underneath.

Do the cast walk on top of the deck as well? If so, you'll obvioulsy need some hand rails and some means of getting up there. Step or ladders fixed to the deck are what you need, depending on the space available and how many performers need to get on top of the deck.
