AndrewR
Thats my question... Do you own a number of either the TW1 or the Studio Commander H?... If so, what are they like to own? Just how reliable are they, what is the lamp life like? What are your thoughts about them generally? Thank you in advance for any input!
Simmo
I doesn’t seem that many people have got there hands on these then! But we have 30 80volt TW’s with narrow lens which have been up in our rig between 6 to 12 months. We haven’t had to swap out a single unit yet. The best colour mixing in any moving light I’ve seen or used, in my option. Zoom is a little slow but that isn’t a problem for us using it in a theatre environment but it is very smooth. Almost completely silent even with 30 on. Lamp life isn’t brilliant but it never is with 80volt lamps. We have just changed the setting in economy so the lamp only goes to 95%, Martin tells us that this increases the lamp life greatly. Mechanical intensity shutter is very hand for snap ups and down and for keeping the correct colour temperature at low levels. Of course this all depends on the type of show you’re going to use these on but TW’s are one of the best moving lights on the market. Sorry I’ve never used Studio Commander.
