digisound
Hello Blue Room, The situation I have is we have a fiddler who needs to wander about the stage but we have no more wireless instrument packs for her to use. My thought is to convert one of our dpa headset cables and use our shure packs with it. Now trouble with this is that it is a 4 pin cable and im unsure what the configuration would be, when going from that to a 1/4 inch jack. If anyone could shed some answers or solutions id be very grateful.
Sound Man
Any Shure bodypacks that use a Switchcraft TA4M male connector are wired as follows:- Pin 1 – Shield (ground)Pin 2 - Bias (+5Vdc)Pin 3 - AudioPin 4 - 20 k Ohm resistor to ground (Link to pin 3 when connecting to microphones. Instrument input - leave unconnected) So using this information the signal connects to pin 3 and the screen connects to pin 1. Leave the other pins disconnected. Hope this helps David
digisound
Yes this is very helpful , thank you. I had an inclination but wanted to be sure before I started hacking our old headmics apart.
