Since the original Swissonic company went bust I believe that the brand name is actually owned by Thomann. A friend has just asked me if I could recommend any budget WAV recorders for a price around £70 and this one looks ideal at £77.64, bundled complete with a 2GD SD card. But I've just got an Swissonic MDR-2from Thomann and it works brilliant. straight forward, easy to use and the sound quality is perfect. The display is pretty "90's" but it seems the Swissonic MDR-2 is exactly what is says on the box: "solid built, great audio recorder". Hope this helps.
