jexjexjex
Hi All I'm looking to buy a pair of gobo rotators for my trusty S4's. I don't need DMX on them, but I would like something that I can alter the speed of using dip switches, or something similar. In an ideal world, it would also be a self contained unit and not need an external controller, although I understand that most of these units have an external 12V power supply. Usedlighting seem to have several "Varispeed" rotators for sale at the moment, but from the DHA/Rosco web site, these would appear to need an external controller. Can anyone give me any info/advice/recommendations? Thanks
Joe Bleasdale
I would certaintly say use DMX if you have the money, you could use a small DMX controller for them I think. I would be unsure as to which one though. hth joe
ryandell
Hi, If you wanted a rotator without DMX I would suggest THIS one, The LD used one on a previous show, It worked very well. It has a variable motor that is controlled by a knob on the unit. HTH Ryan
LampTramp
Best kid on the block for what you want to do is the Apollo Smart Move (double gobo rotator). You can select various effects by hand from the menu and speeds too. It also has DMX in and out.
