w/robe Posted February 19, 2008 Share Posted February 19, 2008 I've just discovered that the BBC Costume and Wig hire closed last Friday. They have been talking for years about the fact that they may be either relocating (I think Birmingham was mooted) or closing but I've not used them for a while and suddenly they are gone. Fletch Posted February 19, 2008 Share Posted February 19, 2008 A colleague's other half was working there until a week ago and my understanding is that they were due to be sold (inc costumes & staff that wanted to transfer) to a hire company. For various reasons this has fallen through and now they are all being made redundant and are currently on gardening leave until their redundancy starts. As far as I know the costumes are still physically in the building. Obv this info is third hand so may not be entirely accurate.
