Tomo Posted January 9, 2008 Share Posted January 9, 2008 The majority of fixed speed gobo rotators use synchronous motors, which use the incoming mains frequency to set the speed.So SCR (or even Sinewave) dimmers won't affect the speed - just the efficiency. You may see some speed control in units that use a Universal motor, but universal motors are more expensive (lots more copper inside), so I doubt there are many products fitted with them.
