The Siemens Media Academy participates in this program with their MATRIX-Concept representing the events sector. Over the next two and a half years the Siemens Media Academy (Berlin, Germany) plans to work alongside 14 international and national partners on the development of education standards within the events sector. This approach will launch a direct link between job-related education and the events sector – a first at European level. The projects´ aim is to support the comparability of education standards and to provide security for the future through new opportunities for training and further education. High innovation potential in organisational and technical procedures characterizes the event sector in Europe. However, what goals does an opportunity for training and further education hope to achieve? And how are enterprises and employees able to profit from it? Which qualifications are essential? “The comparability of professions and education standards forms a fundamental criterion for the mobility of people and secures the professional success and the economical stability as wellâ€, states Uwe Behns, head of the Siemens Media Academy. “Based on these facts the spectrum of requirements turns out to be very different as far as education demands and needs are concernedâ€, explains Uwe Behns. “This leads to an urgent demand for an optimization of the educational offers in view of quality, actuality, flexibility and accessibility of personal as well as operational training aims.†The Leonardo da Vinci-project will be an ongoing initiative, running until spring 2006.
