richard_cooper
I don't think it will do surround, but I use Audacity a fair amount. from their website:Audacity is a free audio editor. You can record sounds, play sounds, import and export WAV, AIFF, and MP3 files, and more. Use it to edit your sounds using Cut, Copy and Paste (with unlimited Undo), mix tracks together, or apply effects to your recordings. It also has a built-in amplitude envelope editor, a customizable spectrogram mode and a frequency analysis window for audio analysis applications. Built-in effects include Bass Boost, Wahwah, and Noise Removal, and it also supports VST plug-in effects.Audacity
Techno_Monkey
I may be wrong here, but doesn't the new version of Cool Edit Pro have surround sound capabilities? I know it isn't exactly free, but I guess it depends on how much you really want it!!
Matt
cool edit pro 2 is good for xp, but if you want to fiddle around with surround sound editing I'd recommend acid pro 4 (easily obtainable from those naughty download programs, not that I condone them at all ) I have used this on my xp system and it sounds pretty cool from what I have doen from it, but its pretty hard Matt.
