Ben Lawrance
Hey all, Can someone point me in the direction of a conversion table for dBu and dBfs. I'm trying to work out the numbers on a berry DCX to set the gains and limiters correctly, but with the scale being in dBfs, I'm not sure what dBu equivelent is. Ken Hughes
Try an email to these guys - some stuff on here which might be useful in a future application. http://www.doctorproaudio.com/doctor/calculadores_en.htm Found it on the Rat Sound site under "links". MarkPAman
The manual says that analogue inputs & outputs are +22dBu maximum, so this is the full scale dBfs level. The mic input is -23dBu.
Shez
It'll vary from one bit of kit to another so a generic calculator is of little use. Generally, it'll be in the region of 0dBu = -18dBfs. I'd be inclined to feed some tone through the desk at a specific level and measure the output - might be more reliable than the manual with berry gear.
