oakwarden
I'm after a bit of advice - the motors and gear assemblies for the Effects disc's come in different motor speeds and gear ratio's, is this correct? I'm after the fixing which goes from the drive sfaft and bolts to the disc, it has three holes in it. If anybody can help :D
Andy Mel
Hi I'm only aware of 1 motor and gear type with the speed being variable by moving the drive wheel along the disc - may be wrong though! Whitelight would be my first spares attempt!!
Jim McGowan
If it's the VSFX 90 glass wheel types your talking about, these were manufactured by WhiteLight. this link: http://www.whitelight.ltd.uk/pdfs/VSFX/VSFX.pdf has an exploded diagram with part numbers. paulears
there's a bloke on ebay who has loads of 252's and effects wheels - he's called iain dennis - probably do a search and find him, else look up stage lighting, he's bound to have something for sale. I've had stuff from him and he's ok.
sguy42
The older motor units come in at least 3 speeds fast, medium and slow, depending on what disc you wanted to use. e.g. fire used a fast motor unit. This was achieved using at least two diferent motor speeds 1rpm and 4 rpm, and at least two different sets of gears (1 of which could be assembled to give two different ratios). All also had the rubber wheel and disc arrangement to give a variable final gearing and direction. More definative information from anyone would be welcome! shane
