Software release: v.6.1.1

Release date: 28/10/2011

Link: http://www.etcconnect.com/product.downloads.aspx?ID=20015

This is a patch release that fixes a number of issues discovered since the release of v6.1.0.

We recommend that all sites using Congo, Congo jr and Congo Kid consoles, as well as Congo Light Servers and Net3 RVIs, update as soon as production schedules permit.

Features:

  • ASCII Light Cues: Improved support for opening of Presto show files
  • 64-bit Windows 7 drivers for ETC fader wings
  • Fixed rare crash when using RECORD and/or UPDATE
  • Other Bugfixes

Release Note: http://www.etcconnect.com/docs/docs_downloads/relnotes/Congo_v6.1.1_RelNote_revA.pdf

Important Note: Mac OSX Lion

We have discovered that Mac OS X Lion (10.7) has introduced compatibility issues with all versions of the Congo Mac Offline Editor.

We are working on a fix for this, but we do not know when this will be released.

In the mean time, we recommend either not updating to Lion, or using Bootcamp/Parallels to run the Windows version of the Congo Offline Editor.

Announcement supplied by: Tomo

Software release: v.6.2.0

Release date: 17th April 2012

Link: http://www.etcconnect.com/product.downloads.aspx?ID=20015

Features:

  • RDM discovery and patch via Net3™ DMX/RDM Gateways
  • RDM fixture monitoring (inc. errors) and configuration via Net3™ DMX/RDM Gateways
  • Sensor3™ dimmer feedback via ACN
  • FDX dimmer feedback over Ethernet
  • UDP trigger strings
  • Support for MIDI Show Control (MSC) commands from the Net3™ Show Control Gateway

Full details of changes: Congo v6.2.0 Release Note rev A (PDF)

The major new feature in this release is support of RDM discovery and patch via Net3™ DMX/RDM Gateways.

Using Congo's RDM Device List, a user can identify and monitor RDM devices, make settings alterations if needed, and patch directly to a control channel, all in one table.

If available, Congo will patch using the fixture template from the library, which allows access to enhanced fixture information like calibrated color and text names for ranges.

If a library match is unavailable, Congo can use RDM data to build a fixture template automatically from data provided by the fixture itself.

Important Note

ETC have found a problem with the USB driver for Wings and Congo jr supplied with Congo software versions 6.1.x.

At the moment, the fix for this is to revert to an older and more stable version of the driver. This replacement driver is included in the v6.2.0 installer and will be installed automatically, however to ensure a full and proper installation of this driver, a manual restart is required after the automated installation process.

ETC recommends that all users update to version 6.2.0 as soon as production schedules allow.
