Johnno
Watching Britain's Got Talent last night has made me wonder what's the appropriate mic for beatboxers- ie vocal percussionists?
J Pearce
Most carry their own SM58.If you do supply a mic to a beatboxer I'd recommend sanitising it afterwards; when I last worked with one it was dripping by the end.
Matt Riley
My favourite mic for beatboxers is a Beyer M88 because of the high SPL capacity, sound and ruggedness, closely followed by an SM58
dosxuk
We had a group of four on the other week who all wanted SM58s
stagemanagement
Most will request a 58 simply because of it''s reputation for withstanding heavy stage "usage" (see Punishment!). I have tried a few variations and found that the 87A does a really good job with a flatter response than a standard 58. Most important is a good COMPRESSOR with a really fast attack!!
