VL1000 issues

We have had some problems with the colour wheels etc. in some VLs not calibrating - If they are the sort that have an optical sensor for the calibration. They have a bit of opaque tape on the glass that falls off after a while. this can be replaced with a bit of black-tac. You can usually spot where it should be by the bit of sticky residue left by its predecessor

Hope this helps

I've had real problems with a faulty wiring loom in a VL1000 before. (And a local dealer too lazy to replace it)

It manifested itself as a faulty gobo wheel. It is very possible that you have a similar problem. When the unit performed POST the gobo wheel juddered like mad and then didn't work normally.
