Douse Mac500/600 on a Strand 520i

Hi. I am basically looking for a more elegant way to accomplish the above.

 

I currently do the following:

 

Run cue 998 - snaps the reset channel to 255.

 

Cue 999 runs automatically with a wait time of 6 seconds - snaps the reset channel back to shutter open.

 

it works, but seems a bit long winded.

 

I wondered if anyone had any better solutions that worked.

I don't know the desk, but I presume its possible to program a macro to do it. I'd be very surprised if it isn't possible infact!

You could have a macro that calls a preset group containing all fixtures lamp off commands... The unfortunate thing is there is no "WAIT" function in macros to pause them half way through, then continue after a certain time (something I've always wished for..). I generally use this method then run my cue 999 (Home) when all lamps are off, which has all the preset groups for shutter open, O/W, no gobo, no rotation, 50/50 pan/tilt etc..

 

It may be wise to make the shutdown macro a "difficult" one to get to... Like a Shift P7 or something.

Ahem, It would appear pressing Control+P on the alphanumeric keyboard will insert a 0.5 second pause into a macro, at least it does on the 520s we're using at the moment <_<

Oovis... Maybe my question should of been, how do you insert a pause into a macro! I didn't know it was possible. I will give this a try when I get to work today. <_<
