Dweeks
Hey guys, Just inherited an old Sanyo PLC-220... all working fine, WITH lamp... the only problem is the zoom motor seems to have failed, it just makes a whining noise when trying to make the image larger. At the moment its stuck on very small, which isn't too great. Anyone got any ideas about how to fix this on this projector? I can post pictures if it helps? Tomo
It sounds like the gearbox has failed, as whining indicates that the motor is still running. The solution basically depends on whether you want to keep the remote zoom function. Your choices are basically:Replace the whole zoom motor & gearbox assembly.Replace the part of the gearbox that's failed - probably either chewed teeth or a missing/disconnected gearRemove the zoom motor entirely and zoom it manually. Dweeks
Well I've just stripped it down to bare essentials... the zoom function is part of the lens. Managed to zoom it in now, so that will do :) Cheers anyway. It's ancient, just going to run it into the ground :D
