Just Some Bloke
what is a method statment? It is a statement of what method you are going to use to do something (e.g. rig speakers or site a mixing desk) in order to show you will be doing everything safely. It's meant to make you think about the best way of doing everything ( :o ), but can also be used if there is an problem to show you were at fault if you weren't strictly following your method statement. ( :** laughs out loud **: ) Edit: typo fixed

paulears
You can pretty well do it any way you like, as long as it explains what you will be doing, and how it will be done - usually emphasising the safety elements in detail. Then, it gets stuffed in a filing cabinet unless the job goes wrong - then it gets scrutinised to find out who gets the blame (cynic mode off). My venue ask every contractor for them. Some are very detailed, others are so full of rubbish as to be quite funny. Some are cop-outs, along the lines of "safety equipment to current standards wil be used in acordance with manufacturers guidelines......" type stuff - quite meaningless, but they sound good. Others are so long winded that it takes longer to read than do the job. In short, just explain how, why, what with, when and how it is going to be done - whatever 'it' is.
