Lincoln
Was recently called to make comment on a production using Le Maitre Confetti/Streamer/Glitter (Large) Plug-in Cartridges rigged on a bar above a dance floor and banqueting event. Yep! Le Maitre do provide a safety chain/clip arrangement to assist in keeping the said cartridges tethered to the "variable angle style" pods that they are used in... However, on a "very" few occasions, we have had the cardboard element of the cartridge come away from the plastic/pins part of the device when it has been fired... The safety chain/clip provided is attached to this lower plastic part and does not provide protection from the cardboard tube being ejected should the adhesive or fixings break down following the great rush of energy at ignition... So helpful tip of the day, especially since we are getting into "pyro-season" with pantomimes etc... Use 2 or 3 cable ties (tiewraps) wrapped around the cardboard body of the device and also take these cable ties through a safety bond (chain - "don't start!!"). Then use the clip end of the safety bond (cable) to attach around the bar that the angle pod has been hung from. Note: Le Maitre only provide "screw" holes on their Variable Angle Pods. Hanging them on bars might just cause you a few other problems with regard to "modification" of equipment and support from the manufacturer in the event of a problem. There ya go. Hope that helps.
