dbuckley
Whilst searching (fruitlessly) for the perfect intercom station I came across Leon Audio Talkback System which is ClearCom compatible, plus does a load more stuff, yet I cant find any references anywhere to anyone actually ever having seen one of these things. Anyone know anything? in addition to the normal signalling methods used by ClearCom compatible kit (ie 12v on audio line to light up call lights) it uses a data channel at 300 baud using 39KHz FM. Clever, and far enough away from the 19KHz used for tecPro signalling that it wont clash. http://leonaudio.biz/tbackf.jpg http://leonaudio.biz/tbctrl.jpg Also, has anyone actually built any ComClone stations and used them in conjunction with "proper" (any of TecPro, Production Intercom or ClearCom) stations, and if so, how well does it all work? I've looked at the schematic, it all looks like it should work OK, but it would be good to hear some confirmation
skdean
The Leon Audio stuff is pretty good. I have used his equipment at two venues that I work at. Ian is very clever in the way her designs things. Another nice feature is when you order a bit of kit from him (he builds to order) you will be asked for a name etc to put on this kit. Makes it very hard to sell if it is nicked. Ian is very approachable about his equipment and there is a lot used in Adelaide. you will get many years of use out of his stuff. I have used the items shown in the photos and the controller is great for the SM to control the headset system.
