Shinksy
Just thought I'd share my end of show backstage announcements and wondered if any one else had done the same. I went through a spell of using backing tracks, via a CD player held to the prompt desk mic. Stuff like the theme from "633 squadron" went down well, as did "The Persuaders". On one occasion though the guy playing the lead in "A View from a Bridge" (whose son has just won Soapstar Superstar!) wasn't amused when he got into the dressing room to hear me singing along to "Bless This House". Me and the LX/Sound op went through a spell of singing the the call while he played guitar. To the tune of "Love me Tender": Ladies and Gentlemen, your running times for this evening wereAct 1 was 1 hour 10, Act 2 1 hour 4Your call tomorrow is half past six for a vocal warm upThe half is called at five to sevenThank you and goodnight My all time favourite was the call at the end of the run, when I advised the company that their next call was for 9.30 Monday morning at their local department of social security. * Anything to keep the precious turns in their place * Obviously I only used that one when I was on permanent contract at a rep.
