  1. Switch mode didn't make a difference so I ended up connecting a 500W lantern which I hid behind a blackout curtain and added a dark coloured gel so light bleed isn't as obvious. Thanks
  2. I have a Transcension UP-2 single channel dimmer we have connected a string of 100 x G40 1W bulbs to (we just want to turn these either fully on or fully off, no dimming required). These turn on fine however when the DMX intensity for these is turned fully down to 0 they still imit a low level of light. I believe this is termed ghosting and can be resolved by adding a 'ghost load'. I understand this is usually done by adding another lantern to the channel (which we can do as the UP-2 has two IEC outputs on it), however we don't really want to add another light source to this channel, is there another way to add this ghost load? Alternatively we could add a 650W lantern and completely close the barn doors so there would be minimal light leakage, however is this likely to cause the lantern to overheat and blow the bulb? Thanks
  3. I have a couple of Kramer in wall speakers that have died. I tested them and a couple of capacitors have blown on them which are easy enough to replace, however one of the speakers has also blown a inductor/coil. There is no labeling on the inductor itself, however when I removed it there was a label on the PCB that says L2/2mH. I have attached a photo of the circuit board and damaged inductor, any ideas where I might find a suitable replacement? I am guessing it is a ferrite-core inductor but does it matter what shape/wire thickness it is or does it not really matter as long as the 2mH rating matches?
  4. The issue with the EW300 G2 is the handheld transmitter, when brand new batteries are inserted it shows low battery and shuts down. This was sent to MLEC to have a look and they said that unfortunately they were unable to repair it. Even if we were able to repair it I would still like to get some recommendations for a budget option as well for backup purposes. Thanks
  5. We are looking to replace an old faulty Sennheiser EW300 G2 handheld radio mic system but want something that is more budget oriented but still decent quality. As we have mainly used Sennheiser in the past I was drawn towards the XSW 1 system (I don't think the XSW 2 system would be worth the additional cost for our usage). This system comes in two versions with an 825 or an 835 capsule, what is the difference in actual sound quality between these two capsules? If it is any help we would mainly be using this mic with an old Yamaha StagePas 500 PA system. Also are there any other manufacturers/models I should also look at that may be cheaper but offer the same sound quality? Thanks
  6. Hi Chris Was this issue ever resolved? We have an SKM300 transmitter that has started exhibiting the same issue. Thanks
