  1. Thanks for all the tips, this is getting more and more exciting. Yesterday I called our Martin importer's service, I got no help from them, they only serve modern stuff. I searched for pictures online and noticed that it is exactly as you describe. There would be rubber dampers that hold up the mirror motor and they are replaced with bolts and the "metal pillars" have no rubber damping. No wonder it works the way it does. Interesting to hear about the DMX cable switch they made. Must check if it is possible to open and switch the poles of a factory cable. It was no ordinary small ballroom you had, it was certainly awesome to experience. Today everything is so big and a little over much
  2. Ok, thanks for the quick answers, it looks so violent when it hits the end position but it was a thought I had that it could work that way, but it hits so many times. I will change the lamp and try to connect it to the DMX and see if it comes to life.
  3. Hello. I got 4 Martin Roboscan pro 518 that not work. I was going to use them for a school dance. I try to do a low budget event for the kids. To the non-functioning scanners. When I connect the power to them (they all work the same way) the mirror starts to move, the pan and tilt work, BUT when they get to their end position (towards the mechanical stopper) they start hitting and jumping towards the end position. Pan and tilt do the same thing and then everything stops working. The lamp does not start to light either, I do not know if they are broken, but have ordered 1 new one. The biggest problem is the pan / tilt motors that strike the mechanical stopper, there are no sensors that sense the positions as on the color wheels. Do we have anyone here who has repaired these 90's things that can give advice on how I can proceed with my troubleshooting? Is it a calibration thing or is the problem on the electrical side.
