  1. The events operations department of Campus Services invites anyone wishing to apply to join our list of approved freelancers. There will be an introductory interview with the in-house management team where we will explain the work involved, frequency, and whether this is the right fit for both parties. This will be followed by the essential paperwork with our accounts team to get things all set up. Once that is all done, we are up and running. An opportunity has arisen to recruit an Events Technician to join the Events Operations Team in running technical events at Imperial College London across all sites in their portfolio. You will have first class customer service skills and will fit into a busy and established Catering and Events team. If successful, you will join a dynamic team of professional individuals supporting both internal and external clients with all technical aspects of their physical and virtual events at Imperial College London and assist with general operations as and when required. Duties and responsibilities The successful candidate must be able to show that they have relevant practical experience of: To provide users with advice, training and support on the use of AV equipment and in addition setting up for events, lectures and presentations To assist in the research and evaluation of new AV technology and place great importance on continuous improvement and highly committed to benchmarking and raising service standards Monitor the use of equipment, ensure that adequate management and security measures are employed, note and report defects, repairs and maintenance issues To manage, train and motive staff Interfacing IT and AV equipment and the ability to resolve associated problems. Essential requirements Must have experience of working in Events in an audio-visual capacity Must have experience of working with a broad range of computer hardware (e.g. PC, Mac) and software (e.g. presentational systems such as PowerPoint, Real Time Player, Windows Media Player) Demonstrate experience and basic knowledge of video production, editing and streaming To have basic operational knowledge of a one or all range of audio-visual hardware.(e.g. sound and lighting control infrastructure, data/video projection equipment etc.). To have a basic understanding of PC network protocol.   5. The Events and Conferencing department at Imperial College London are looking for casual AV technicians to support a fluctuating schedule of events throughout the year. The successful applicant will assist both internal and external clients with all technical aspects of their events at Imperial. They will also be expected to assist with general operations as and when required. We pay £11.32 per hour with a minimum call time of 4 hours.
